Steve Templeton
Founder
Steve Templeton founded Templeton Building Company in 1980 with a clear belief: that lasting relationships are built through honesty, accountability, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
He began his career in the building industry as a laborer, gaining a firsthand understanding of the craft from the ground up. Early on, he recognized an opportunity to offer something more, an experience rooted not just in quality construction, but in a higher level of service and trust.
Over the years, Steve has built more than homes. His hands-on approach, respect for each client’s vision, and hands-on leadership have shaped the company’s reputation and the relationships it’s known for today. Many of those relationships have lasted decades, a reflection of the care and consistency he brought to every project.
While his role has evolved over time, Steve remains an important presence within the company, continuing to influence its direction and values.
Steve holds a Michigan Builder’s License and was among the first builders in the state to earn designation as a Certified Green Professional through the National Association of Home Builders.
He and his wife, Ann, live in Birmingham and enjoy traveling, staying active, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
